I created this blog to assist with the training demonstration I will be delivering in person at Sweet Briar College.
Although, I am delivering this demonstration as part of the interview process, I did not want to present past work I had done, or deliver a standard training session or workshop on conflict resolution. Rather, I want to provide you with information that is directly related to what you do, and show you resources that can be used in the classroom.
Keeping this in mind (as well as the position I am interviewing for), I decided to design and develop a brief training session on Millennials and how they learn. I chose this for several reasons.
1. Based on my knowledge of Sweet Briar, the majority of the students are Millennials
2. Millennials do not learn in ways that are compatible with the standard higher education classroom
3. To continue to be successful, colleges have to adapt to this new generation
I will touch on these points more during the in-person session. Before hand, please visit the "Personal Needs Assessment" page and the "How Millennial are you?" page as these provide information for my training.
I look forward to meeting you on Thursday! Please feel free to visit my website if you want to learn a bit more about me before then.
